Vaccines & Children
Ontario publicly funded immunization schedule
See what vaccines you and /or your child should get at each age and what diseases they protect against.
By law, children must have some vaccines before going to daycare or school in Ontario according to the Ontario’s Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA) and Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA). Please note that COVID-19 vaccine is not mandated by ISPA or CCEYA. Your child’s risk of getting a vaccine-preventable disease may increase if you choose to not vaccinate your child. Your child must be kept home from school or daycare if there is a disease outbreak that could put them at risk.
Children must be immunized for the following diseases:
Public Health does not require schools to collect and submit student vaccination records. Parents and legal guardians of junior and senior kindergarten registrants and students new to Ontario are asked to report their vaccinations to Public Health.
Parents are responsible for notifying Public Health each time their daycare or school-aged child receives a vaccine. Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic we are moving away from paper registration for reporting vaccinations.
