Hamilton Civic Museums – Real March Break Adventure!
Hamilton, ON – March 7, 2016 – During March Break, Saturday, March 12 through Sunday, March 20, visitors are invited to experience guided tours, games, exhibits, hands-on activities and much more, at the cultural sites owned and operated by the City of Hamilton.
Dundurn National Historic Site - March Break Adventure
Saturday, March 12 to Sunday, March 20, 12 to 4 pm
Enjoy a guided tour of the Castle, sample goodies in the historic kitchen and explore the craft area and Gallery in The Coach House. Experience a self-guided tour with dress-up and hands-on activities, and view the exhibit "Blood Ties to a Gentle Landscape" at the Military Museum.
Battlefield House Museum & Park - A Monumental “Minecraft” March Break
Monday, March 14 to Friday, March 18, 12 to 4 pm
See the past come to life while participating in a ‘Minecraft’ scavenger hunt in the Museum and engage in Minecraft-themed activities and crafts.
Whitehern Historic House & Garden - Work Play
Saturday, March 12 to Sunday, March 20, 12 to 4 pm
Put on an apron and try your hand at rolling dough, mending or shopping, or try outdoor games like egg and spoon or badminton, weather permitting.
Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology - Whatever Floats Your Boat
Monday, March 14 to Sunday, March 20, 12 to 4 pm
Join us for a boat-themed week of activities using everyday household items to create and invent. Free event – regular admission rates apply to the museum.
Hamilton Children’s Museum - March Break Madness
Saturday, March 12 to Sunday, March 20, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm
Engage your budding dramatic artist, inspiring engineer and innovative environmentalist with a visit to the new interactive Galleries.
Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum - Fun with Nature
Tuesday, March 15 to Saturday, March 19, 1 to 5 pm
Experience Hands on Nature, an exhibition from the Royal Ontario Museum, and get in tune with your natural surroundings.
Regular admission fees apply unless otherwise indicated. All sites, with the exception of Fieldcote, will be open on Monday, March 16.
