Portion of James St N closed beginning Monday
HAMILTON, ON – As part of the Central Neighbourhood upgrades project in the downtown core, the City of Hamilton will close James St N between Cannon St and Barton St beginning Monday, August 16 for approximately two weeks.The closure is expected to wrap up on or before August 30, 2021.
The scope of work includes:
- Intersection improvements at the corner of James St N and Mulberry St
- Watermain and sewer replacement
- Road and sidewalk reconstruction
- Road resurfacing
Motorists should follow signs for detour.

Businesses in the area will remain open for the duration of the construction.
With the exception of parking permit holders, there will be no parking available on side streets to the west side of James Street North, including Colbourne Street, Sheaffe Street, Park and Mulberry.
