Statement from Mayor Eisenberger - Captain Thomas McQueen
December 6, 2016 – In honour of Captain Thomas McQueen, whose Military Funeral service will take place at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum on Wednesday, December 7th 2016 at 11 am, Mayor Eisenberger has instructed Staff to have the flags lowered tomorrow at Hamilton City Hall, and at Fire Station #19 (3302 Homestead Drive, Mount Hope). Flags will also be lowered at John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport.
The Province will also be lowering flags at all Government of Ontario buildings and establishments in Haldimand-Norfolk and the City of Hamilton.
The funeral is open to the public and will conclude at approximately 12:30 pm. Four CF-18 Hornets from 3 Wing Bagotville, Que. will perform a flyby during the service.
Following the ceremony, a procession will travel along an extended Highway of Heroes to the National Military Cemetery at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa, ON.
